SquareTrade © AP6.0Beautiful, Navajo Sgraffitto Horsehair Fired Ceramic Pottery!="times">
This traditionally shaped high-shouldered vase features slip-cast native clay, carved with extensive "avanyu (Pueblo Feathered Serpent)" designs scratched from a polished, horsehair reduction fired surface. The resulting pattern of design and surface horsehair carbon markings on the redware clay color is unique and very attractive. The pot is 6 7/8" tall and 6 5/8" diameter. There is a very slight firing ding (spalted off) on the inside of the rim. It is signed with the artist's name: D ARAGON Acoma Sky City, NM, but the artist is an enrolled Navajo.
