Early Oil on Canvas Work by Artist Patrick Dalton
This 1989 painting features striking color and evocative subject. Mr. Dalton indicated to us that it came from a dream dealing with a hard breakup. Mr. Dalton, of mixed Cherokee heritage, produced this painting early in his career as he experimented with American Indian cultural issues. The stretched canvas measures approx. 58" x 46". The painting has been in our private collection since it was acquired, and has been protected from direct sunlight. It hung for several years in the Prairie Star restaurant, and in the Range Restaurant in Bernalillo, NM, and needs a new home. It can either be shipped crated or the canvas can be removed and rolled for re-stretching, the buyer's choice. The artist is represented in Taos, NM, and has an enthusiastic following, although we have lost direct touch with him. As a fine example of representational American Indian fine art, this painting typifies the color and subjects that have given the artist her much-deserved reputation. The subject and mood are typically Southwestern -- it will bring many admiring comments hanging in your home or business. ="times"> |
