| Handmade Acoma Pueblo Fineline, Polychrome Traditionally Decorated Miniature Olla Jar! This traditional vessel features native clay, traditionally coiled and hand-formed, then slip decorated in a very traditional, feather & medallion motif. The background is white slip painted for contrast. It features a high-quality smooth surface, and the tiny jar is kiln fired. The artist is Pat Romero. The olla jar style evolved as just the right shape to store and carry water. Acoma Pueblo draws it water from a deep stone cistern, then it had to be walkedbalanced on the head, quite a distance, so these jars' shape is very specific and well-balanced, and could easily be more than 16" tall. Acoma pottery is highly collectible and is prized for its unique designs and fineline execution as well as the thinness of the pottery. The pot is signed on the bottom, and measures just 2 1/2" tall.
