Handmade Acoma Traditionally Decorated Necked Vase!="times">
This contemporary vessel features native clay, traditionally coiled and hand-formed, polychrome slip in an Anasazi-style Tularosa Swirl fineline motif of black on white slip. The decoration reduces in size, proportional to the diameter of the vase, and the rim is left white. The walls are very thin, as is typical of Acoma work, and of the Vallo family's work in particular. This vase was created by Leland Vallo. The colors are very traditional for Acoma Pottery. This is a kiln fired vessel. It is a small jewel, 3 1/4" diameter and only 3" high. If you are looking for an unusually nice piece of authentic Acoma pottery, then go no further!
