Authentic Cheyenne Handmade Deerskin Buffalo Man "Rez Doll"!="times">
This rare, wonderful handmade doll features traditional vision quest dress: loincloth, headdress and buffalo robe -- in real buffalo hide! He is carrying his prayer pipe, and the fully fringed, brain-tanned deerskin pipe bag. His long hair is covered by a buffalo felt headdress complete with horns and a speckled blackbird top piece, all completely handmade. The artist is enrolled Cheyenne artist Clifford Eaglefeathers. The doll was made in 2003. It measures 12" tall, and comes complete with steel doll display pedestal and handmade skin covered drum base, which adds another 3" to the overall height. Like all dolls made for children during the reservation period beginning around 1880, the doll's face has no features.
