Old Handmade Sterling Tooled Two-stone Turquoise Ring -- Very Traditional!="times">
This wonderful item features traditional silversmithing and old, traditional design! Taken in collection from Dead Pawn, it dates to the mid-1950s. The simple, solid, high-bezel settings hold what appears to be Cerrillos turquoise, from the mine near Santa Fe, NM. The piece was collected in the Four corners region, near Shiprock, NM. In our opinion, based upon 30 years' experience in the field, we think it's maker was probably Navajo. It is entirely unmarked, which is typical for Navajo jewelry of the period. It measure 1 3/4" across the setting and 1 3/8" wide, in a recessed, shadow-box featuring a corner set leaf applique. The shank is sized for approx. 7 1/2, This is a wonderful example of the decorative elements in very traditional Navajo decorative jewelry until the late 1960s. It may also be useful as a neckerchief slide. If you are looking for an unusual traditional Navajo item or special collector's gift, don't let this one get away!
