This traditional vessel features native clay, traditionally coiled and hand-formed, then buff and red slip decorated in a typical geometric/cloud steps motif with edges carved shallowly. The pot was collected in 1935 in New Mexico, at San Juan Pueblo. It shows relatively little wear for its age, and is a great example of earlier Pueblo small work and an early forerunner of the deeply carved pottery now done at San Juan. It measures 3 3/4" diameter and 3 3/4" tall. The pot is pencil marked "WT" and San Juan on the bottom. If you are looking for an unusual piece of authentic old Pueblo pottery, then go no further! We've been working to keep our customers coming back since 1985 -- We ship fast, always insure packages, and accept returns. We hope you'll be one of our many regulars.
